About Horror Game Night

Horror Game Night is a video game blog focusing strictly on the horror and thriller genres. Created and maintained by Chris LaForce (that’s me!) of the First Encounter podcast, the goal of Horror Game Night is to spread the love of horror video games, regardless of system, sub-genre, or production scope. This site is still in its infancy and growing slowly since there’s only a single dedicated author, but I hope to build Horror Game Night into a community that all horror fans appreciate and return to.

Crafting Nightmares: A History of Survival Horror

Crafting Nightmares is my (Chris’s) big writing project that I want to see in print. As an examination of the history and evolution of the survival horror video game genre, it includes in-depth retrospectives of the titles that helped shape and expand the genre, beginning in 1989. It’s a large project, dense with information and requires lots of research and writing.
